It’s time for another Covert Povert happening, poetry on the fly, where it is least expected! Please join us for the low-tech performance of “Call Me The Name I Call Myself” by Mary Ann Moore. Don’t be late because you may miss it!

Time: 2 p.m. (until 2:10 p.m.)

Date: Friday, October 14

Venue: The open lot at the end of Prideaux Street by the Millstone River in Nanaimo. There are some concrete curb-like things for seating or you can bring your own lawn chairs – and umbrellas if necessary.

What are the Covert Poverts?

A loose-knit, self-defining group of local poets who stage collaborative poetry happenings in unorthodox locations (vacant lots, alleys, bridges…) advertised only through the cybervine – email, twitter, facebook. Like raves, but for poetry. This time, the loose-knits are: Mary Ann Moore, Kim Goldberg, Kim Clark, Leanne McIntosh, David Fraser, Rie Okamura and Gordon May.

Who is a Covert Povert?

Whoever considers herself one.

Who can organize a Covert Povert happening?

Whoever has a collaborative poetry project looking for an audience.

Who cooked up all this craziness?

2 Kims (Goldberg & Clark)

Mark your calendars and pass it on!
